據(jù)阿拉伯貿(mào)易網(wǎng)2023年8月3日利雅得報(bào)道，全球領(lǐng)先的石化公司之一的沙特基礎(chǔ)工業(yè)公司(沙比克/Sabic) 8月3日報(bào)告稱，由于平均銷售價(jià)格下降，其第二季度凈利潤從去年的79億里亞爾(21億美元)下降至11.8億里亞爾(3.15億美元)，降幅高達(dá)85%。

根據(jù)數(shù)據(jù)匯編機(jī)構(gòu)Refinitiv公布的數(shù)據(jù)，沙比克第二季度的凈利潤超過分析師10.5億里亞爾的平均預(yù)期。

在公布截至2023年6月30日的3個(gè)月業(yè)績時(shí)，沙比克表示，由于定期維護(hù)作業(yè)，沙比克第二季度的平均銷售價(jià)格下降26%，銷量下降4%。

沙比克在提交給沙特證交所Tadawul的文件中表示：“由于為應(yīng)對通脹而收緊貨幣政策，全球經(jīng)濟(jì)持續(xù)放緩，導(dǎo)致需求減弱，沙比克化工產(chǎn)品平均售價(jià)下降，銷量減少?！?/p>

因此，盡管原料成本較低，銷售和分銷費(fèi)用較低，但毛利潤和息稅前利潤(EBIT)仍大幅下降。

沙比克表示，該公司第二季度在非控股合資企業(yè)和關(guān)聯(lián)公司業(yè)績中的份額也大幅下降。

沙比克表示，由于原料價(jià)格下跌，其石化和特種業(yè)務(wù)的息稅折舊攤銷前收益在4月至6月期間增長了8%，達(dá)到42.7億里亞爾。由于銷量和價(jià)格下降，沙比克第二季度收入下降7%，為316億里亞爾。

Sabic's Q2 profit plunges 85% on lower sales volume, price

Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic), one of the leading global petrochemical companies, today (August 3) reported a 85% plunge in its net profit for the second quarter which fell to SR1.18 billion ($315 million) from SR7.9 billion ($2.1 billion) last year mainly due to lower average sales prices. 

The net profit beat analysts’ mean estimate of SR1.05 billion, according to data compiler Refinitiv.

Announcing its results for the three-month period ended June 30, 2023, Sabic said the group's average selling prices fell by 26%, while sales volumes were 4% lower due to scheduled maintenance activities.

"The global economy is continuously slowing down as a result of tightening monetary policies to confront inflation, leading to weaker demand and a decrease in the average selling prices of the company’s products as well as lower quantities sold," stated Sabic in its filing to the Saudi bourse Tadawul.

As a result, there was a sharp decline in gross profit and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) despite lower feedstock cost and lower selling and distribution expenses, it stated.

Sabic’s share in results of non-integral joint ventures and associated companies also fell substantially in the second quarter, the company said.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, Sabic said its ebitda at the petrochemicals & specialties operations rose by 8% to SR4.27 billion in the April-June period because of lower feedstock prices. Revenue was down by 7% at SR31.6 billion on lower sales volumes and prices.

The petrochemical giant said monoethylene glycol (MEG) prices fell by 10% quarter on quarter during the April-June period “as a result of higher supply and new capacities, despite improvement in the polyester demand in Asia.”

The polyethylene (PE) global prices declined by 7% quarter on quarter in the April-June period, weighed by low demand from downstream sectors while increased capacity from US and Asia, it added.
